CHRISTIAN BROTHERS BAND NEW YORK TRIP ITINERARY
Tuesday – April 7^th
4:30pm                 meet at Memphis airport for check in (please eat before you come to the airport) Casual
                             Dress
6:35pm                 depart Memphis on Northwest flight 504
10:28pm               Arrive at La Guardia Airport – visit a snack area (not provided)
                                Shuttle to La Guardia Airport Hotel: 110-15 Ditmars Boulevard, East Elmhurst NY
11:30pm               Check into Hotel and get room assignments
12:00pm               Lights out, no one is to leave their rooms and students must go to sleep

Wednesday – April 8^th
5:00am                 Wake up call – pack bag and board bus (we will not be returning to this hotel)
                             Performance Dress
6:00am                 Bus to Bishop Laughlin Memorial High School: 357 Clermont Ave. 11238, Brooklyn, NY    
7:00am                 Breakfast will be provided at Bishop Laughlin upon arrival
8:45am                 Perform at Bishop Laughlin High School for the student body and faculty
10:00am               Mingle session with Bishop Laughlin Students and Band Members
11:00am               Lunch at Bishop Laughlin High School (provided)
12:00pm               Bus to Hilton Hotel: 1335 6^th ave and 54^th street and check in.  Rest, Swim, Etc.
3:00pm                 Band Directors Orientation Meeting
3:30pm                 Walk to Times Square and tour and take a group picture, Casual Dress
5:15pm                 Dinner at Juniors on Time Square: 1515 Broadway  (not provided $28.87)
8:00pm                 West Side Story on Broadway at the Palace Theatre: 1564 Broadway
10:00c pm            Walk back to the hotel
11:00pm               Lights out, no one is to leave their rooms and students must go to sleep

Thursday – April 9^th
8:00am                 Wake up call – breakfast in the hotel rooms (please bring breakfast bars with you)
9:00 am                Board Busses for the Sounds of the City Tour  (9:00 – 1:00) Casual Dress
Lunch                    Lunch location will be decided by our Tour Guides (probably a less expensive meal not
                             provided)
1:00 pm                Return to the Hotel, get all band equipment and load the bus
2:00 pm                Bus to Carroll Music: 625 W 55^th St. #6 10019, for a Master Class and
                                Workshop. Full band rehearsal with comments from judges.  School Dress                   
3:45pm                 Load the Busses and return to the hotel and relax
5:30pm                 Band Directors Meeting
7:00pm               Take a subway ride to the Cotton Club: 142^nd street and Lenox in Harlem
                             Tour Guides will be present. School Dress  ($4 not provided for subway)
8:00pm                 Dinner at the Cotton Club and Jazz Concert  (Provided)
10:00c pm            Take the Subway back to the Hotel
11:00pm               lights out, no one is to leave their rooms and students must go to sleep
                               

Friday – April 10^th
7:00 am                Wake up call – Breakfast in your room (not provided)  Performance Dress
8:00 am                Board Bus to go to Lincoln Center – Alice Tully Hall: 70 Lincoln Center Plaza, NY 10023
9:00 am                Watch other bands perform:
                                                Tarpon Springs High School Jazz Band     9:00
                                            Brevard High School Band                                9:30
10:00 am              Move to the Warm up
10:30 am              Perform at the Lincoln Center – Alice Tully Hall
11:00 am              Lincoln Center Clinic
11:30 am              Watch Selingsgrove Area High School Honors Choir
12:15 pm              Lincoln Center Closing Ceremonies
1:00 pm                Bus Pick up and transfer back to the Hotel
1:30 pm                Lunch at the Hotel, Marketplace Restaurant (not provided $27.07)
3:15 pm                Bus to: 61 Chelsea Pier, NY -  School Dress                                           
4:30-6:00pm       Cruise around Manhattan on the Spirit of New Jersey Cruise Ship, dinner and mingle
                              session with other bands at the festival
                              (Provided)  School Dress                                                 
6:00pm                 Board Busses and bus to the Empire States Building for observation tour
                                (Tickets are $20 not provided)                   
8:00pm                 Walk Back to the Hotel (pass New York Public Library, Rockefeller Center, and Radio City
                             Music Hall)
10:00pm               Lights out, no one is to leave their rooms and students must go to sleep

 

Saturday – April 11^th
7:30am                 Wake up call – Breakfast in your room, (not provided) Performance Dress
9:00am                 Board Buses for transport to Carnegie Hall
9:30am                 Arrive at Carnegie Hall and proceed to warm-up room
10:30am               Perform at Carnegie Hall
11:30am               Watch Carlsbad HS Chamber Orchestra perform
12:00pm               Return to the Hotel and Change – Casual Attire
12:30pm               Meet Field Studies Guide in Hotel Lobby
1:00pm                 Board the subway to the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island ($4 round trip not provided)
1:00c – 7:00am  Tour the Statue and Ellis Island and take a group picture.  Tour the South Street Seaport, China Town, and Ground Zero. Lunch  and    Dinner this day will not be provided
                             and the locations will be decided by our tour guides.  (Probably less expensive meals)
8:00am                 Return to Hotel, relax, swim, clean your rooms and begin to pack your bags, etc.
10:00am               Lights out, no one is to leave their rooms and students must got to sleep


 

Sunday- April 12^th
7:00am                 Wake up call – Breakfast in your room  (not provided) Performance Attire
8:00am                 Walk to St. Patrick’s Cathedral
8:45am                 Easter Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral
10:00am               Walk back to the hotel
11:00am               Check out of the hotel – Casual Attire
11:30pm               Lunch at the Hotel (not provided $32.00)
1:00pm                 Load Busses and bus to La Guardia Airport
2:00pm                 Check into LaGuardia Airport
4:30pm                 Leave for Memphis on Northwest flight 507
6:30pm                 Return to Memphis for dismissal from the Airport

Monday, April 13thth – No School – Enjoy your day off

 

Breakfasts – Most breakfasts are not provided on this trip.  Students are encouraged to bring breakfast bars or other non-perishable breakfast items in their suitcases for the mornings

Performance Dress – White Shirt, Khaki Pants, respectful tie, respectful belt, dark dress socks, hard sole shoe, Blue Blazer  

School Dress –Dress Shirt, Trousers, Tie

Casual Dress - Respectful at all times, jeans, t-shirts, etc are fine (dress for cooler weather)
