The 2011 Christian Brothers Junior High Honor Band held at Christian Brothers High School.  The Honor Band is for 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grade musicians who have been playing their instrument for at least one year and is available for both male and female students. Auditions include a solo prepared by the student and awards will be given for Superior and Excellent solos.  Students will then be ranked and placed in the Honor Band under the direction of our guest clinician Dr. Nicholas Holland, Symphonic Band director at the University of Memphis.

Rehearsal Dress : Comfortable school clothing is appropriate for the rehearsals.  Concert Dress Boys : slacks, dress shirt, tie, and blazer
Concert Dress Girls : a dress, preferably dark in color

Fee : There is a 20 dollar registration fee
Meals : All Meals served on the campus will be provided

Instruments/Equipment/Supplies : Participants should bring all equipment necessary including instruments, reeds, mouthpieces, and mutes.  Large percussion instruments will be provided, however percussionists need to bring their own sticks, mallets, etc.

Music : All music and a folder will be provided to participating students

Saturday, March 5th

Sign in - This will be in the hallway in front of the band room (Room 110)
after sign in, participants will warm up in the band room and be called to the audition rooms to perform their solo

Auditions - Students will be called to the audition room and asked to perform a solo of their choosing.  Students will then be awarded medals for superior and excellent solos.  This will serve as the chair and part audition.

A pizza dinner will be served in Heffernan Hall after the students audition.  Entertainment by "Walnut Groove"

Participants will meet in the band room for seat placement

Rehearsals begin under the direction of Nicholas Holland, music will be passed out and participants will be given breaks throughout the evening.
