Lessons
Every member of the Performing band must take one 30 minute lesson a week either from his own personal instructor or one that can be appointed to him for a $200 semester fee. The times of these lessons vary from instructor to instructor.
Lessons are graded and are worth up to 5 merits for a superior lesson and up to 5 demerits for a failed lesson or unexcused absence.

Calendar
Students must attend all activities on the band calendar.  Failure to attend a performance will result in a drop of 2 letter grades. 
In the event of a emergency, excuse forms must be filled out, signed by a parent or guardian and approved by the band director.

Practice
Students are required to practice 4 hours a week on their primary instrument.
Students are to turn in a practice form every Monday signed by a parent or guardian. 
Any outside ensembles can count for additional hours of practice each week pending a student director agreement.
Up to 5 merits may be granted for additional practice each week, one merit for every hour over 4.
Up to 5 demerits may be given for a missing practice log or one demerit for every hour short of 4.
