At the graduation exercises of 1877, music included such pieces as "Cape May Polka," "Potpourri from La Fille du Regiment," "Carnival of Venice," (piccolo solo) and "Medley of Popular Airs."
Professor Saxby, the second band director of Christian Brothers College, opened a new dancing academy at Maennerchor Hall on Jefferson and Second where he taught all new dances for the time including the glide waltz and the schottishe.
