| Welcome to Coach Blancett's web site.
Most of the information contained on these pages pertains to alcohol and drug
prevention. The last couple of years that has been my main focus.
The mandatory drug testing we started a few years ago has done what we
hoped, given kids another reason to abstain from illicit drug use. The
next link in the chain is to address underage alcohol use. As the
alcohol prevention program progress so will these pages. So check back
often for additional information and updated material. The Parent Resources page has several articles that I have written and collected in the last few years to help parents keep their teens alcohol and drug free. The FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page contains information regarding the Substance Abuse Policy at CBHS, a link to find out what Substance dependency actually is, and four types of substance users. The Links page will get you to many sites that will help you keep your teen safe. There are links to national studies, warning signs to look for in your teen, a Blood Alcohol Concentration educator and several other sites of A&D interests. The Suggested Reading page list several good books about teens and drug use as well as good books on how to make it through the tough years of raising teens. The Favorite Links page is my escape from reality. Living in the real world can be a pain, so I escape as often as I can. The wrestlers claim that I live in my own little world. I call it "Blancettville". It's a nice place. You should come and visit me some time. |
