LOCAL MEETS:

FACILITIES: Local meets will be held at the Bartlett Recreation Center and St. George’s High School.  Both are 8-lane, 25-yard pools.

FORMAT: Two meets will swim on each date, sessions 1 & 2.  Girls start first with odd numbered events, and the boys have even numbered events.  Format “A” will be one half of the full slate of events, and format “B” the other half.  Both sessions of the 500 freestyle in format “B” will swim at the same time, between sessions.  The event cards for the 500 free will be collected during session 1.  The 500 free will swim 5 minutes after the 1st session ends.  Therefore, if you are in session 2 and have swimmers in the 500 free, you and your swimmers will need to arrive at least 30 minutes before the 2nd session starts.  This year, at all local meets except the Championship, Event Cards will be turned in 30 minutes prior to the start of the meet for seeding.

SCHOOL LIMIT: 3 swimmers per individual event, 1 relay per relay event are eligible

to score.  All other entries for the school will be exhibition.  Please mark exhibition event cards with an “EX”.

SWIMMER LIMIT: 2 individual events and 2 relays.  Swimmers may not swim 3 individual events and 1 relay.  All swims, including exhibition, count towards the swimmer’s limit.

SEEDING:  Coaches need to turn in Event Cards to the scorers’ table for every individual and relay 30 minutes prior to the start of the meet.  Please organize cards in order of event from fastest to slowest times.  Events will be seeded before the start of the meet, however cards will be returned to the swimmers shortly before the start of each race.

SCORING: 8 places will score with points 9,7,6,5,4,3,2,1.  Relays score double.  All events are scored as timed finals.

EXHIBITION: Only the “A” relay may be entered to score.  All other relays must swim exhibition.  Swimmers may not swim more than the swimmer limit, including exhibition swims.  Exhibition relays and individual swims do not score.  All individual swims, including exhibition swims, will count towards a County Championship Qualifying Time (QT).  Exhibition swimmers and relays need to report to the bullpen for lane assignments with an event slip marked “EX”.

MEET EVENT CARDS - Swimmers must have one event card for each race they will swim.  Relays need one event slip per team per event.  Copy attached.

- Coaches: Indicate male or female, event number, swimmer’s full name, school,     distance, stroke, and seed time.  Swimmers without seed times will be entered in the first heat, regardless of ability.

- Clerk of Course - Will fill in lane and heat

- Timers - Will fill stop watch times

- Runner - Will pick up the event slip and take to the scorers’ table

- Scorers - The scorers will determine the official time and place.

DISQUALIFICATIONS: Following TISCA rules, we will use USA Swimming rules, NOT high school.  USA Swimming certified stroke and turn officials will be used.
