The Brothers got off to a roaring start in the State Tournament with a huge win over BGA. The offense was led by the BGA pitching staff who walked 9 and hit 3. Sr. Michael Wills was brilliant on the mound pitching a complete game 2 hitter, walking 1 and striking out 4.

Jr. Drew Smith pitched 5 innings giving up only 2 hits and walking only 1 while striking out 4.

The Brothers kept their season alive with this big victory against McCallie. The offense arrived as the Brothers pounded out 14 hits. Sr. Drew Martinez (2-4, 2 runs), Jr. Caleb Flexsenhar (2-3), Jr. Dalton Martinex (3-3, 3 rbi's), and Jr. Blake Allen (2-4, 2 rbi's) led the offense. Sr. Michael Wills was dominate on the mound going the distance only allowing 3 hits while striking out 8 and walking none.

The Brothers were dealt a severe blow to their State Tournament hopes with this defeat to McCallie. The Wave did not play very good defense and 3 of the Blue Tornadoes runs were gifts. Sr. Drew Martinez led the offense with 2 hits. Sr. Stephen Thompson went the distance on the hill but was the victim of the poor defense. Now the Brothers have to defeat McCallie 2 games in a row to make it to the State.

It took 10 long innings but the Brothers finally prevailed and won the regular season title. This guarantees the Wave a berth in the sectionals. This game was really well played on both sides of the ball. Sr. Stephen Thompson threw 8 innings, allowing 5 hits and striking out 9,  but only came away with a no decision. Jr. Drew Oliver and Sr. Will Robinson pitched the 9th and 10th innings respectively and made some quality pitches in clutch situations. Thompson was also the leader offensively as he went 2-4.

In a great atmosphere pitting the Dandy Dozen's # 1 and # 2, the Brothers ended up on the short end of the stick in this game. It was a great game for 5 innings as Sr. Michael Wills had a no hitter going on the mound. However, the Dragons got on the board in the 6th to pick up the victory.

The Brothers were looking at the wrong end of a 5-2 score going into the 6th inning of this game before scoring 3 in the 6th and 3 in the 7th to take the victory away from the Mustangs. Jr. Caleb Flexsenhar (3-4, 2 rbi's), Sr. Stephen Thompson (3-4, double, triple), and Jr. Myles Parma (2-4) led the offense. Thompson also threw a very workman like 6 innings giving up 7 hits, getting 5 strikeouts, and allowing only 1 walk. Sr. Michael Wills threw the 7th for the save.

However, that turned out to be enough as Thompson threw a complete game no hitter, striking out 14 and only allowing 1 walk.

Going for the series sweep, the Brothers were 1 strike away when the Saints pulled out the victory with a questionable fair ball down the right field line that brought in the tying and winning runs in the bottom of the 7th. The Wave could not put together much offense against a very good Saints pitcher. Sr. Drew Martinez pitched very well and should have won the game instead of being the hard luck loser.

The Brothers continued winning with victory over Millington. The Wave was led by Sr. Drew Martinez (2-4, double), Sr. Zac Mitchell (2-3, double), and Jr. Dalton Martinez (2 rbi's). Jr. Matt Pinkston picked up the victory on the mound.

With rain all over the area, the Brothers slopped their way to victory over Wynne. So. Troy Mannino led the way at the plate by going 2-2 (2 doubles) with 2 rbi's. Sr. Matt Perry and Jr. Blake Allen also added a double and 2 rbi's each. Sr. Stephen Thompson not only got 2 hits and 2 rbi's, but also pitched 3 innings for the win. Stephen struck out 5 and gave up 2 hits. Sr. Wayne Hawkins threw 2 innings of relief, giving up 0 hits and striking out 4.

The Brothers upped their record to 4-0 with a convincing win over Lewisburg. The Wave was led offensively by Sr. Drew Martinez  (2-2), Jr. Myles Parma (2-4), Jr. Dalton Martinez (2-3, 2 rbi's), Sr. Zac Mitchell (1-3, 2 rbi's), Sr. Matt Perry (1-2, 2 rbi's),  and Jr. Blake Allen (1-3, 2 rbi's). Jr. Drew Smith picked up the pitching victory by going 4 innings while striking out 5 and only giving up 1 hit. Jr. Drew Oliver came in relief and threw 2 innings.

The Brothers remained perfect for the 2008 season by beating a pesky group from Cordova. Sr. Michael Blanchard led the Wave by going 3-3, including a double and an rbi. Sr. Wayne Hawkins pitched in with 2 hits and an rbi as well as Jr. Dalton Martinez who had 2 rbi's.  Sr. Drew Martinez picked up the victory on the mound by tossing 6 innings, allowing 3 hits, while striking out 3. Jr. Blake Powell looked great in his 1st varsity pitching role as he shut down the Wolves in the 7th in relief of Martinez.

The Purple Wave enjoyed a fun night of baseball by doing the little things right and walking away with another victory. On this gorgeous evening the Brothers were led offensively by Jr. Myles Parma. Myles was 2-3 at the plate with 2 doubles and 2 rbi's. Sr. Zac Mitchell also had a hit, an rbi, and scored twice. On the mound Sr. Michael Wills threw 5 strong innings of 4 hit ball even though he was still feeling the lingering affects of strep throat. Michael struck out 6 and only walked 1. Jr. Drew Smith came in relief in the 6th and struck out 3 in his 2 innings.

On a cool and enjoyable night, the Brothers jump started their season with a convincing victory over the Trojans. Sr. Drew Martinez chipped in a double at the plate. Sr. Zac Mitchell and Jr. Blake Allen both contributed a double and 2 rbi's. The Wave was led on the mound by Sr. Stephen Thompson. Stephen pitched 6 innings, gave up only 2 harmless singles, while striking out 8 and only walking 1.
